Aquaculture Wire

Luvata aquaculture wire

Healthy, low-maintenance environment for fish farming

Luvata's aquaculture wire solves one of the biggest problems with offshore fish farming. It creates a natural protective surface oxide on which organisms such marine vegetarion will not grow.  It is resistant to barnacles, algae and other organisms that often disrupt the flow of water and create a breeding ground for diseases and infections in the aquaculture.

When used for mesh cages:

  • reduce cleaning and maintenance costs
  • improve the health and environment for fish
  • increase water flow
  • offer superior durability against currents and predators
  • offer advantages in cage construction

The potential for Luvata's aquaculture wire is huge with applications ranging from lobster and crab traps to cages for all imaginable types of aquaculture including some species that were previously unsuitable for farming.

Available in three new copper alloy wires.  It is also available as a smaller diameter wire, which is lighter in weight when compared with conventional copper wire-based solutions, delivering additional savings on raw material and downstream transportation costs.
