Luvata, a silver sponsor of the 10th Solarpraxis Forum held in Berlin, Germany November 19-20th, joined other experts from the industry, politics and finance to discuss the current and future position of the solar industry. Held annually and sold out this year with more than 700 attendees, the forum remains the meeting place for fostering networks and looking in depth at current solar issues and market trends.
“We took the opportunity as a silver sponsor to bring more visibility of the Luvata brand to the photovoltaic community,” states Norbert Weidehoff, Sales Manager with Luvata Sales Oy. “Held in Germany, long considered the world’s leader in its thinking and support of renewables, it attracts an international audience looking to learn more about both the technical developments and the governmental issues related to photovoltaic and solar thermal.”
"The goal is seven percent of electric power coming from photovoltaic by 2020,” indicates Olli Naukkarinen, PV Business Director with Luvata Pori. “It was suggested during the forum that large companies would be able to achieve good profits, if they use their economies of scale and that integrated manufacturers have, a better market position than specialists. This is good news for Luvata.”
“Although 2009 was a challenging year for photovoltaic,” continues Weidehoff, “there was consensus among finance analysts forecasting growth in the German photovoltaic market of 10 to 20 percent for the coming year.”
Weidehoff summarizes: “The sun was shining before the crisis, the sun was shining during the crisis, and the sun will shine after the crisis. In time, we will figure out the best way to capitalize on all this sunshine, but it is definitely a very bright future.”
The 11th Forum Solarpraxis will take place in Berlin in November 2010.
