Nitrode™

Nitrode™ is the most cost-effective cap electrode available for resistance welding applications. Composed of CDA Alloy C15760 dispersion-strengthened copper and cold-formed, Nitrode™ has consistently outperformed RWMA Class 2 chromium copper electrodes in anneal resistance, conductivity, service life and maintenance costs.

Longer welding life

Nitrode resists annealing and lasts longer than any Class 2 electrode.

Nonsticking characteristics.

Nitrode permits no-stick welding of galvanized steel and other coated metals.

Resists mushrooming

Nitrode’s resistance to mushrooming requires only one-fourth the dressing frequency of Class 2 electrodes, minimizing line interruptions and rewelds.

Reduced downtime for maintenance

Overall maintenance of Nitrode™ is reduced significantly compared to Class 2, yielding higher production efficiency and more effective utilization of your welding equipment.

Reduced energy requirements

Due to its higher conductivity, Nitrode™ requires lower amperage when used on both sides of the weldment. Percent of heat control on your welder can usually be reduced 10 percent or more from its Class 2 setting with no loss of weld quality.

Smoother start-up after electrode changes

Nitrode™ requires no warm-up or conditioning period after electrode changes. If you use automatic step-up controls, the incremental settings can be varied to minimize current adjustments with no loss of weld integrity. The results are fewer electrode changes, fewer interruptions for dressing and smoother start-ups.

Works on all steels

Nitrode™ has demonstrated superior welding performance for a variety of steels, including high strength/low alloy, nitrogenized, low-carbon and zinc coated, galvanized and many others.

More cost efficient than Class 2

In actual production tests at a major automotive assembly and stamping plant, Nitrode™ was analyzed to determine maintenance savings, energy savings, and increased life span. Overall, Nitrode™ proved significantly more cost-efficient than Class 2 electrodes.
