Telecom & Communication
Copper is a very important part of telecommunications due to its indispensable role as electrical conductor and shielding material in cables. Luvata's copper is used in many of the largest communications networks around the globe.
This market includes all wire and cable used for telephony and data transmission. The largest sector of this market is external telecommunications cable that includes optical ground wire (OPGW).
Whether the setting is terrestrial, aerial or undersea, we are your partners in quality, research and engineering technology
This market includes all wire and cable used for telephony and data transmission. The largest sector of this market is external telecommunications cable that includes optical ground wire (OPGW). Data cables represent a smaller segment in terms of volume of sales but have a higher value and a rapid growth forecast. Data cables include community antenna television (CATV) cable amongst others.
Both OPGW and CATV can be produced on Luvata machinery offering a reliable production source for these high value added products. The Luvata machine equipped with a 300mm wheel and tangential shoe assembly is the common production route for these cable applications.
Conformâ„¢ technology is widely used in the production of CATV cables to extrude an aluminium sheath onto the cable core. The cladding eliminates interference from local radio waves and is therefore particularly useful in urban areas. The sheath also protects from moisture and reduces cable damage extending its useful life.
Luvata products are used in:
- Coaxial cables and waveguides
- Coaxial feeder lines
- Optical submarine cable networks
- Optical ground wire
- Data cables
Luvata products offer:
- Improved reliability
- Reduced down-time
