Telecom & Communication

Luvata's copper is used by many of the largest communications networks around the globe. Copper is indispensable in the telecommunications industry as it fulfils two purposes: it is an electrical conductor and it also works as a shielding material in cables.

Luvata produces all kinds of wire and strip that are used for telephony and data transmission cables, whether the setting is terrestrial, aerial or under the sea. Our optical ground wire (OPGW) is used in external telecommunications cable (the largest market in this sector) and we also supply strip for community antenna television cable (CATV).

We use Conform™ technology in the production of CATV cables to extrude an aluminium sheath onto the cable core. This cladding eliminates interference from local radio waves and is particularly useful in urban areas. The sheath also protects the cable from both moisture and damage, and can therefore extend its useful life.

You will find Luvata products in coaxial cables and waveguides, coaxial feeder lines, optical submarine cable networks, optical ground wire and data cables.
