In the highly automated world of automobile manufacturing, competitors race to increase productivity through improved manufacturing efficiencies. Auto manufacturers have been searching for methods to reduce down-time and improve the quality of welding while, at the same time, reducing costs.
Luvata worked in partnership with Toyota Body Operations to implement the ‘P-cap electrode’: a unique design capable of doubling the standard electrode weld life. As a result, Toyota was able to run additional production by reducing down-time while improving weld quality. This increased productivity while lowering overall cost.
Toyota recognised our ongoing contribution with the honour of ‘Outstanding Business Partner’ in 2004.
